TAMPA, FL (November 12, 2019) – In observance of Veterans Day, D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc., America’s Oldest Brewery, and Team Red, White & Blue (Team RWB), one of the nation’s leading veteran service organizations, brought together military veterans and participants for WOD for Warriors at the Yuengling Center. Every year, hundreds of gyms across the country host WOD for Warriors, a functional fitness tribute workout, to raise awareness and funds for Team RWB’s community programs that unite veterans through camaraderie.

“As America’s Oldest Brewery, we are steadfast in our commitment to making a positive impact on the people in our local communities. We are very grateful for the veteran and active military communities’ service for our country and are excited to support them through our Lager for Heroes program,” said Jennifer Yuengling, Vice President of Operations and 6th Generation Brewer, D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc. “We are so honored to be a part of WOD for Warriors in Tampa this year and celebrate our ongoing partnership with Team RWB. At the event, Yuengling also presented a $50,000 donation to Team RWB for their ongoing commitment to creating quality relationships and positive experiences for veterans. Through various fitness activities, social gatherings and community service projects, Team RWB aims to create an easier transition and sense of belonging for veterans after military service.

WOD for Warriors is Team RWB’s annual community-driven workout movement on and around Veterans Day at gyms across the country. This event is an opportunity to support and raise donations for America’s veterans, while participating in functional fitness, competing for prizes, and engaging with those in the community. All proceeds from this event go directly to support Team RWB’s mission.

Yuengling awarded Team RWB the donation through Lagers for Heroes, a year-round program that enables the brewery to support nonprofits and advance programs that positively impact veterans and their families.
