Yuengling Hosts Inaugural Gold Rush 5k
This year has been one of the most exciting years for the brewery – we’ve introduced several new products, experiences and events to celebrate our 190th anniversary and show appreciation to our loyal fans. In addition to our fans, we owe much of our success to our surrounding communities who have supported the brewery and our family over the past 190 years.
Following the success of our Light Lager Jogger and Shamrock Marathon, we decided to partner with CK Running to host the inaugural Yuengling Gold Rush 5k to benefit the Pittsburgh community and our Lager for Heroes partner, Team Red, White & Blue (Team RWB). Team RWB is dedicated to enriching the lives of American veterans by connecting them to their community and helping them create authentic relationships that support their mental, emotional, and physical well-being. As America’s Oldest Brewery, we have always appreciated and supported the dedicated service men and women who have fought for our country’s independence, and we’re proud to partner with Team RWB to amplify our impact on our nation’s veterans.
On Sunday, June 30, I had the privilege of running alongside more than 600 runners as we traveled through a scenic route around Pittsburgh’s North Shore area. The race was filled with positive energy and enthusiasm as excited spectators cheered from the sidelines for their friends and families.
The fun and excitement didn’t end at the finish line! Following the race, we hosted a post-race party featuring food, entertainment, and Yuengling Golden Pilsner, the brewery’s first new year-round product in 17 years, which was created by our team of brewers, and my sisters and I. With a crisp and refreshing taste, the beer is great for outdoor and active lifestyles, and was the perfect inspiration for our first-ever Gold Rush 5k.
On behalf of my family and our entire Yuengling team, we are so thankful for all the Yuengling fans that came out to support a charity that’s close to our hearts, and we look forward to seeing our fans at the next event.
