Team Red, White & Blue: Partnering with Yuengling to Support Veteran Programs
In 1997, I traveled from my home state of Michigan to New York to attend the United States Military Academy at West Point. I met a good friend from Lehigh who, like many Pennsylvanians, spoke highly of Yuengling. After tasting Yuengling for the first time, I immediately fell in love with the beer and knew my family would love it too. It quickly became a tradition to pack up cases of Yuengling beer whenever I traveled home. Yuengling has always held a special place in my heart, and on behalf of Team Red, White & Blue (Team RWB), we are thrilled to partner with America’s Oldest Brewery for its Lagers for Heroes program.
Founded in 2010, Team RWB’s mission is to enrich the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity. Today, Team RWB is approaching a million engagements with veterans over the last six years, and we could not have touched so many lives without the help of our charitable partners.
We are humbled that Yuengling has chosen Team RWB as their partner for the Lagers for Heroes program, which enables the brewery to support nonprofits and advance programs that positively impact veterans and their families. Team RWB recently visited Yuengling Brewery in Pottsville, Pennsylvania to receive a generous $50,000 donation from Jen and Debbie Yuengling, 6th generation brewers, on behalf of their family. Additionally, during the month of November, a portion of sales from Yuengling’s Heroes Collection is donated to Team RWB. Yuengling’s contributions will further our commitment to creating quality relationships and experiences for veterans that contribute to life satisfactions and overall well-being, including fitness activities, social gatherings and community service.
At the brewery, I also sat down with Jen and Debbie for our Eagle Nation Podcast. Hear about what it was like growing up in America’s Oldest Brewery and learn more about their commitment to the military in the latest episode: “The Yuengling Sisters – Running the Oldest Brewery in America.”
Team RWB has felt Yuengling’s unwavering commitment and dedication to care for our country’s service members and their families. Previously, Yuengling supported Team RWB’s Old Glory Relay, a 4,300-mile journey where veterans and supporters carry the American flag across the country to honor and connect those who served our country. During the Pennsylvania leg of Old Glory Relay, Jen raised the flag and ran a portion of the course with Team RWB to support our nation’s veterans.
Team RWB offers resources to ensure veterans have an effective transition back into their communities and ways to engage locally. For more information or to join us, please visit TeamRWB.org.
